i think that means something, have a think about tesco expansion and this time it is waitrose, another supermarket and why would they want to do that under this bad condition? i got 2 reasons:1.supermarket industry suffer less from this recession;2.the firm has seen the sign of recovery. there must be some other causes waiting you to find out.
I think that this is a good idea.I have for it two main reasons.Firstly, this step should establish pernament receivings of money and reduce unemployment.Secondly, people´s confidence should increase as they will see that supermarkets are trying their best.
however that will make competition for small shops so many of them might close.so some people will be employed however others will loose their bussiness.
The best time to go fishing is when the weather is at its worst. Why not all the supermarkets, except Tesco and Waitrose, follow the rule and expand?
it is a really good time for super supermarket to expend like tesco
because the land labour things like that are all more inexpensive
Tesco and the waitrose, both created a lot job to expand. In this situation, the price of the labour and the commodity had decreases. So it is the best time for supermarket to expend.
Compare with other retail markets, supermarket suffers less because it is human needs, and some of the products are inferior goods.expanding in this period express confidence to its staffs and cosumers
Obviously, Tesco and Waitrose both are fully confident with the cutting saving rates to 0. But unfortunately, this action will not saves the economy, it will makes new social problems. By the way, retails didn't been influence too much I think, because as the population didn't shrink, the demand for people's basic needs didn't change a lot. By the way, people may choosed to buy food from supermarkets instead of going restaurant, therefore even been a improve of supermarkets' business.
it is second supermarket to create new jobs. that will build the comfiedence
It is not a surprisign for me.Retailers are trying to make profit in this specific time-The land and labour price are cheap. They can expand their consumer surplus and make it more attractive to customers.
I don't understand, waitrose suffers from the bad economy, how can they possibly expand at this time?
Some people earn while others lost.
I think when the financial crisis pass over, there will be a new pattern in many sectors. In a way, it is an income distributuion-new.
It is good time for some oligopoly to extent their business. First of all lots of companies left the market due to low demand so these oligopolies will own more maket shares than before. Aonter reason is that decrese in the price of capital.
The expansion of waitrose will have a positive effect in the unemployment rate which is not very big amount compared with millions unemployed. In any ways this should help reduce the amount of money the government spend in benefits.
