In this special time, people are willing to see that Tesco is expanding its business and creating more jobs, while in the past, many people are against Tesco strengthening its monopoly power by opening new branches. It is a good opportunity for Tesco to grow its monopoly power depite high risks.

Notice that the sale of TESCO has been rose up during the festival season. Hence it is normal tesco extend its market power. I do believe it is a good decision even though it seems risky, however, high returns come with high risks.

It is good to see that supermarkets such as TESCO are thinking how to help the economy...and one way is to reduce the unemployment by building new stores around the UK...i think that this is a very good idea so it will support people hope to get the economy established at least.people will be hopefully more confident ans will start to spend their money again....

It is good for the economy. In other words, there is more workplace and more people can be employed.
But it looks like Tesco are creating jobs for Golden Brown, because he just said the government will creat jobs for people.Brown needs the new jobs to make him look good.

but there are disadvantages of big supermarkets like tesco.for example because of competition many small shops might get cloused.

like chingis said more job be created in supermarket means more small shops will lose competitiveness, it is the other way to make unemployment increase. i think tesco want to built their corporate image by doing this.

Some suffered from it, some benefit from it, some lose his last penny in it, some people get rich in it. While some are losing money, some are gaining defenitely. The global economics crisis is a chance for some people.
